Surgical VR Training: Spatial Interface Design

vruiuxBy Jackson Barnes

Designed a VR training interface for the Oculus Quest, enabling surgical proctors to guide students through WAVELINQ 4F EndoAVF System procedures using interactive educational content.

I designed a VR media interface for a training simulation of the WAVELINQ 4F EndoAVF System. The interface helped surgical proctors move through educational content while teaching students about the procedure.

Spatial Interface

The interface brought media playback, procedure steps, and navigation together inside VR. Proctors could cycle through material related to the surgery being taught without leaving the virtual experience.

It was implemented in Unity and deployed to the Oculus Quest, where doctors used it to support instruction.

Client

Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) is a medical technology company that develops medical devices, instrument systems, and reagents.
