As a software engineer on Booz Allen's 5G/XR team, I helped develop the DoD's first wireless XR training system. The solution integrated AR/VR applications, specialized servers, and 5G networks to enable untethered field training for soldiers. The system was rigorously tested at Fort Cavazos, supporting diverse training scenarios from mission planning to remote-guided medical procedures. By leveraging 5G's bandwidth and low latency, it transformed military training by bringing immersive, data-rich experiences directly to the point of need. The customizable platform collected performance data through IoT sensors while enabling secure two-way communication between trainees and remote experts, significantly enhancing training effectiveness and operational readiness.
